'Born August 3, 1992, in Chicago, Illinois, American model Karlie Elizabeth Kloss of Danish, Polish and German descent is the daughter of Kurt and Tracy Kloss, an emergency physician and a freelance director who lived in St. Louis with Kloss and her two sisters. In 2006, while at a local benefit runway show at 14 years, Kloss was scouted by an agent, who got her to pose for a cover shoot for June issue of Scene Magazine. This shoot went further and caught the attention of Elite Model Management in Chicago, who notified their New York Office of the new face model, and Kloss was brought over to New York. Kloss got signed to Elite Model Management and worked with the Model Management for two years. Soon after she left in 2008, she got signed to Next Management. She walked 31 runways in New York Fashion Week, doing an exclusive for Calvin Klein and closing for Marc Jacobs along with several notable designers she opened and closed shows for. She hitched higher in the 2008 fall collections, walking 20 shows in Milan and 13 in Paris, having 64 shows in a single season.'
